Our service area: shore houses have their own problems
The housing stock between Branford and East Lyme is older than the state average, much of it built before modern framing practice and a good deal of it altered since. Settled floors, undersized headers and previous work of uncertain quality are the normal conditions, not the exceptions.
Add coastal humidity and salt air and you get a specific set of failure modes: tile assemblies that were never waterproofed properly, fasteners that corrode early, and wall assemblies that cannot dry after a storm. A contractor who works inland does not necessarily have those reflexes.
