When you call Joe Kimmes Construction, you talk to the person who will be sitting in the excavator. No sales rep, no subcontractor roulette, no waiting on rented equipment.

Tell us what needs moving. We will call you back with straight answers, usually the same day.

We look at access, soil, and drainage before we quote anything.
A clear price for the work described. No padding, no surprise extras.
Our crew, our machines, done when we said it would be.
We live here, hire here, and haul here. When the community needs a hand, the same quad-axle that hauls your gravel shows up full of donations.
That is what family owned actually means: you will see us at the hardware store, the hockey rink, and the job site down your road.
Every site is different, so we quote after a site walk instead of guessing over the phone. The estimate is free, and the price we give is the price we work to. Call 218-348-4829 and we will set up a time.
Spring fills up fast once the frost is out, so call before the season if you can. That said, we work year round: winter is actually a good window for land clearing and some hauling, since frozen ground protects your property.
We take it from staking to rough grade: the dig, footing prep, backfill after the walls are up, and final grading. Your builder pours; we handle everything the dirt touches.
The base. Red clay around Superior holds water, so a driveway needs proper excavation, fabric where it counts, and the right depth of base rock before the top gravel goes down. That is why ours do not turn to soup in April.
Yes. We screen our own black dirt and sell sand and gravel by the load, delivered or picked up. Call for current prices and delivery to your area.
We are based in Superior and work across Douglas County and the Twin Ports: Duluth, South Range, Poplar, Maple, Lake Nebagamon, Solon Springs, Iron River, Brule, and the surrounding townships. Not sure if you are in range? Just call.
Based in Superior, WI. If your dirt is within an hour of the yard, we probably already have a machine near it.
Call Joe, walk the site, get a straight price. That is the whole process.
