Tanglewood sat quiet for three seasons. Then new ownership brought it back: greens rebuilt, fairways restored, and a course that regulars now call some of the best conditions in the Chippewa Valley.

Our Story

Three seasons dark. Now the busiest corner of Menomonie.

A course of this caliber inside Menomonie's city limits is rare, and for three seasons it sat vacant. Owner Mark Wallskog, a hospitality veteran behind Heartwood Resort & Conference Center in Trego, bought it with one commitment: restore it properly.

Since reopening in 2023, the greens have come back, the restaurant and event center have filled up, and Tanglewood has turned into what it was always meant to be, a place the whole community shows up to.

Do I need to golf to visit Wood & Vine?
Not at all. Wood & Vine is a full restaurant and bar open to everyone, with rooftop seating, happy hour specials, fish fry Fridays and live music through the season. Plenty of guests come just for dinner.
What is the Toptracer Range?
Our driving range is fitted with Toptracer technology, which traces every shot and shows carry, speed and shot shape on a screen in your bay. You can practice with real data or play points-based games with a group, no golf experience required.
Can beginners play the course?
Absolutely. Tanglewood is a public course and welcomes every skill level. Multiple tee boxes keep it fair for newer players, GPS carts help with distances, and lessons are available if you want to sharpen up.
How far in advance should we ask about weddings and events?
We host a limited number of weddings each year so each one gets full attention, and dates go early. If you have a season in mind, reach out as soon as you can and we will walk the grounds with you.
